Author Topic: [NEWS] Military coup in Turkey fails  (Read 13564 times)

turkish constitution gives the military power to stage a coup if the government becomes too religious and anti-secularist
Thanks for explaining.

ankara is now controlled by pro-coup forces, and CNN has gone full-propaganda, with other coup forces still active

as far as i know, the pro-coup air force & pro-coup land army are still well and active, too. people are saying things are gonna kick off again in the morning (US time)

yeah looks like western media is pushing the agenda that the coup is over and erdogan has regained control

when middle eastern and other sources are saying the coup is in full swing and still a hot mess

Good. Kill the AKP like the Armenians Erdogan needs to get the forget out.

That's very surprising, considering that the military seems to be a lot more "Western" in its values than the regime.

Wouldn't want people in America and Europe to wake up and hang their leaders for their crimes.

that's because the military was created as a pro-western entity by ataturk to keep the islamic influence in turkey below that of its western influence

also is this starting to look like a false flag operation to anyone else

I don't want to sound like a tin foil conspiracy person but why would he be flying in a plane for that long over the same area when the turkish air force went rogue? and why would the parliament building be bombed? who would bomb it? why? the coup forces are in favor of democracy, so why would they bomb the place where democracy resides? and why would pro-erdogan forces bomb it? that's where they work, isn't it?

EDIT: looks like some turks on /new/ and /pol/ have the same hunch

My surprise wasn't directed at the military being Western, it was at the media for bias towards Erdogan rather than the military.

And yeah... this whole thing does seem a bit odd...

Wait so who bombed and killed all those civilians- the pro-coup guys or the military

ah my mistake, I misread ya

looks like both sides have their hands dirty

I'm going to be entirely honest, the pro-Erdogan stance Western media is taking doesn't surprise me. Turkey is one of the few allies that the USA has in the area, and contains strategic bases and nuclear weapons. It makes complete sense that the West wants him on their side.

However, the destruction of the Parliament building is incredibly suspicious. What was the point of it?

EDIT: Saudi Arabia has a lot of money, and the US is releasing today a document that could be highly damaging to the country's position in the world. Maybe they're trying to get back at us by overthrowing a key ally in the region?

shooting civilians is a war crime, so what the forget is going to happen after the coup? They going to overthrow the govt and then get life sentences?9

martial law was imposed, but I'm not sure how far that'll cover their asses

we'll just have to wait and see

if this is orchestrated by erdogan, it's probably his intention to use this coup to purge senior military officials and install pro-loyalist ones so he can strip the military of its separation from the state and remove its right to coup. he's always been against western influence, so I can't see that not being plausible

he knows how vital turkey is as a strategic ally to the west, so he knows we'll cover his ass whether he did it or not. that's the sad part
