What you're thinking of is called "The God of the Gaps." Its basic premise is "Science can't explain 100% it at the moment, therefore god did it." Which, from a scientific standpoint, is fundamentally flawed.
i'm actually pretty sure that he was saying that a god could have done it considering that there's not solid evidence it wasn't

It's possible, yes. But keep in mind that to claim that X is true because there's no evidence X is false is a fallacy. You can say it's possible all you want, but as soon you claim that it is true it becomes a fallacy.

i wasn't saying "god could've/did do it cus science can't explain it," i was more so saying "at this point it's just as good an explanation as any other," which in turn is just a fancy way of saying "who forgetin knows dude lol"

my explanation was also pretty oversimplified because i didn't figure it was necessary to get the main point of "actually the big bang doesn't quite try to explain that" across

i grew up in a christian family but i've kind of diverged away from christianity. i've been baptised but i'm agnostic now

i've kind of gone on my own spiritual track-- i don't discount any of the christian beliefs, i just like to explore stuff that isn't in the bible, such as other sacred texts. still, i take everything with a grain of salt

whether you're religious or not, it's very interesting seeing the fact that the forums are mostly irreligious, compared to just about any physical place in the world

I feel like the internet is mostly irreligious

I'm the president of a highly successful Satanist Club at my highschool.

What do you expect from a forum full of 16 year old Liberals?

What do you expect from a forum full of 16 year old Liberals?
is this supposed to be a negative statement?
because 16 is old enough to make a decision on religion (rhyme not intended)
and "liberal" isn't an insult, neither is "conservative" or "socialist" etc

or maybe i just misinterpreted it in which case carry on

it's more like the majority of christians/catholics are more conservative than liberal-- i don't think he meant it as an insult :p

true
it's just that usually "What do you expect from ____?" is negative in nature
