Opera was one of 6 other generic, sub-tier browsers I installed so that I could play Sherwood Dungeon on maidmarian.com with multiple clients and act as my own clones.

Yes, a very old version. Don't expect any updates for it, though. The Wii is almost completely unsupported after 2013.

There hasn't been a system update for the Wii since 2010, to put that into perspective.

Either way I don't think it's in their best interests to change the browser drastically.
Should it become malware and track data without prior consent, I'm not going to update, then uninstall it.
