Author Topic: Hot air balloon crashes in Texas  (Read 1558 times)

they shouldve jumped just before the thing hit the ground
if you jump at the last moment it cancels out the momentum and you dont die
can't tell if u guys are joking

can't tell if u guys are joking
hopefully everyone here has taken physics

can't tell if u guys are joking
no wtf pay attention to your physics class
i actualyl graduated in physics so

why is this on the news?
cause its an unusual and stuffty way to die. it's interesting, in other words. when news is sold by views and clicks, "hot air balloon crash kills 16" sells very well

why is this on the news?
16 people dying all at once in a fiery hot air balloon isn't exactly a common occurrence

AHH i still can't tell if you're joking

dude look bro look

this right here is the newtons law of universal gravitation

you see the small one gets pulled to the big one right?

see right imagine the green one approaching the blue one right and youre on the green one so like just when it about to collapse you NEGATE THE GRAVITY BY JUMPING
so your pull gets cancel and it restarts at the pull of a normal jump
so you effectively cancel your maximum velocity if you have a jumping surface

ez pz

can't tell if u guys are joking
be careful not to jump too high
you won't have a platform the second time

NEWS UPDATE!!!! Apparently someone caught footage of the balloon right before it crashed, you can see the evidence of the fire on the balloon

yo seriously you guys are trying to bamboozle me

Donnie is correct but the amount of vertical velocity and momentum that already exists in the opposite direction would make that physically impossible. Maybe that would work if you were a robot or some stuff.

even worse than not having another platform is jumping way too high and ending up on the sun or the moon if its night

Actually, you'll only lose a tiny bit of energy. Because the platform is moving down while jumping, you'll only fall down slower instead of going up.

what if we just ignore physics altogether

are you guys seriously asking yourself whether you'd be okay if you jumped before a balloon hit the ground
