I had a similar attitude with a build in the past where I was making it and thinking "hey, this is nice, maybe I could apply with it"...
In practice, it doesn't work. A nice looking build is the very basics, originality is a huge factor, as well as other things. I'm not accusing you of anything as pretty much all the builds on the server look very similar. Even mine. It's impossible not to leech off other good ideas, even when we try not to. As Az said, good man, stick it out, go wild with an idea not seen before and come back. I predict only good things.
Oh and Geek, you can't claim a door. Especially as the blocks are based on lego bricks, the door you're describing was probably pieced together by some fat foreign man in his basement ten years ago. I do however believe a lot of people leeched from your style, but with this build theme I find it un-expected.
