i believe that people have three lovees: male, female and other (like genetic/physical mistakes or malformation), and gender can be used to describe how people feel in relation to their biological love.
however, i feel that the "gender" movement has been a little excessive in trying to proclaim that there are tens, hundreds of genders. i could maybe understand five (male, female, agender, bigender, other), as these people identify with male, female, neither gender, both gender or something else, respectively.
the thing about these movements that bother me is that i want to be able to provide everyone with representation, but some things don't even fit what should be considered a "gender" in a relative sense. androgyny? that's not a gender, that's how you look in relation to a gender. moreover, we can't have a definition for literally everything. if we were to have a category for every different person, then they wouldn't be categories - they would be individuals. therefore, having hundreds of "genders" is pretty much useless when only a couple people adopt such names.
