4g is minimum nowadays. new games tend to be pushing higher texture res and such so it does help a bit.

Alrighty. Thanks for the help

I'd recommend the GTX 1060.
Don't get the RX cards.

That one looked too spendy for me.

I would have to tie it between this:
get an r9 380 instead

Or the gtx 960.

I have a gtx 960 and I'm really happy with the performance.

Lets go 960 lets go!
I have a Gtx 770 and it can run basically run any game at max shaders, but I cant really run rust or empyrion on max with it

ill sell my 960 110 bucks. its nearly new, was just a placeholder for few months for when the 1000 cards launched.

the r9 380 is cheaper and faster than the 960 if you don't overclock the 960.

and it doesn't look like you plan on overclocking the GPU so i'd go with the r9 380.

what's the wattage of your PSU btw

the 380 is faster in every way, which is why i regret having a 960 4GB right now. i plan to give it to one of my friends for their new pc build

lol seems im not alone here

GTX 1060. Its cheaper and better.

while i also believe the 380 > 960, i think op should wait until they can afford one of the latest cards

I'd recommend the RX 470 that's coming out soon. It's basically the sweet-spot for performance/price ratio for 1080p 60fps gaming. $150 USD.
i would recommend it as well, but by the time the 470 is released he'd probably have the spare cash for a 480 or 1060

You guys are really helpful to me deciding; I'd couldn't be more thankful.

I'm leaning towards the R9 380, but I'm going to create a poll that would be helpful if you guys can respond on.

Thanks again guys!

I revised my budget to be 100 min, and 200 max. My dad will be ordering the winning card for I can pay for what he quotes me on.

Except it's a good card that will last for a while?
