Author Topic: [CAUTION] Audacity and Classic Shell infected with virus on FossHub (video pg 4)  (Read 8103 times)

While there are some viruses that are specifically designed to exploit VM software and load themselves into memory on the host machine, the authors of viruses like these are generally too stupid to do anything like that.

The only virus that could possibly work outside of a VM that I could think of is a worm. Because a worm would spread itself to all clients on a given network, exploiting holes in the network.

It's also hilarious how these guys troll people instead of reporting the vulnerablities like any sensible person. Instead they have to inconvinence people by having to make them boot up gparted and fix this. :y

i mean they could have also just stolen all of your stuff instead of trolled you and make you boot up gparted, and completely wipe your drive instead of just making something inaccessible (which can be easily fixed), they were doing a favor by not loving over everyone and just messing around, and pointing out the vulnerabilities

this "at least they didn't do worse" logic is handicapped and shouldn't be used to justify what a couple of clowns did

you're right man, that makes it okay. assault is okay too, given that it's not as bad as actual murder, imho

im not trying to justify them doing anything, im saying that people should atleast be glad they didnt get completely forgeted
also go away

oh shut up

im not trying to justify them doing anything
well you are but okay
im saying that people should atleast be glad they didnt get completely forgeted
thank you, script kiddies, for only making my computer temporarily unusable

well you are but okay it was my opinion that they were doing a favor by not completely destroying people's machines

im done taking you seriously

just a little nitpick but it wasn't a virus, a virus tries to spread itself, this one did no such thing. It would be classified as a malware rootkit.

it was my opinion that they were doing a favor by not completely destroying people's machines
im done taking you seriously
frankly I don't care whether or not someone who literally says spreading malware is doing people a favor takes me seriously

wasn't malware spreading, it was a rootkit that would misplace something in your MBR
(which you can easily fix by using a program and then rebooting and deleting the thing that misplaces your stuff)

*copies something someone just said to make myself look smart because I wrongly assumed it was relevant*

i didn't copy someone else but okay
you're really loving dense jfc

they both have an unfavorable effect i'm not sure why you specified this
