right, which really only means that it's a condition which negatively affects someone's normal function in some way, it's a purely medical classification. stigmatizing mental illness really only stops people from seeking treatment when they need it, tho obv that's not a problem exclusive to GID. and that kind of stigma is probably also why some trans people are against the classification of GID as a disorder

Is it not fair to assume that reassignment surgery, which effectively destroys the reproductive system, is something which negatively affects someone's normal function? I'd like to believe that there's some sort of middle ground between stigmatizing and enabling. To me, surgery seems to be more of an enabler.

why is it pushed that you're a terrible person if you don't conform to all the new politically correct standards

the loud minority overspeaks the silent majority, and when people start lying and giving new meanings to words and it gets a cult following (like furries) it's hard not to conform to the one thing that's growing, especially when they complain about not getting enough space to brown townly rape the media into submission and then train it to repeat that you should follow their rules

Do you seriously believe that Transgender / LGBT acceptance is a mainstream movement? That is definetely not the case in most places around the country.

I think this is something you've invented. I haven't seen a single person here seriously say that Conservative ideals make you a terrible person.

Every other news thread on the BLF has a source -

they do, actually

I haven't seen a single person here seriously say that Conservative ideals make you a terrible person.
it's heavily implied in the media and other outlets when a popular individual states their beliefs or does something polarizing and gets figuratively raped

Being politically correct makes you a tool. It will never happen. There will never be a politically correct country unless it was under the reign of a global dictator.

That's a case of them getting ganged up because they said something many disagree with, not a case of people saying they are terrible. Just because I think your beliefs are stupid doesn't mean I think you're a terrible person.

Also, the media is not liberal in the slightest where I live. I only see the very opposite of this.

wow amazing news flash: there is multiple media and news sources that is biased towards different sides of the political spectrum

well no, keeping the same pair of genitalia doesn't really do much improve psychological health if you're experiencing severe enough dysphoria. i'm not sure what you mean when you say there's a relationship between stigma and enabling though. people getting treatment doesn't mean that we're playing into their delusions, it means they're making choices to improve their own lives by reducing the negative effects of their psychological problems. they should be able to do that free of stigma. the assertion that these treatments are enabling seems to also dismiss GID as a legitimate problem; it says that their symptoms aren't real enough to warrant action, and that would be highly inappropriate in any medical context.

and regardless, reassignment surgery isn't really what always happens. it's an extreme permanent solution for extreme permanent dysphoria. many people get along just fine without any treatment at all, and many others do fine if they can just use their preferred identity and maybe go through hormone therapy and the sort if they need it.

So if someone says "in layman's terms" they would have to say "in layperson's terms"

How loving handicapped does that sound?
