So today I was at work and the GMIT told me to finish up with the cars in the drive thru so he could talk to me in private in the office. The general manager had flown the coop due to a domestic issue with a guy making threatening throat slashing gestures at her after we had filed a restraining order on him, so she went home. Thinking it was related to that, I wasn't worried. When I went in the office, he told me to shut off my headset to make certain that no one else with headsets could possibly hear what we were saying. He then told me after the last discussion we had had on my situation, my GM told him that she would pay me anything to take the manager job, even if it means that I'm the highest paid manager by a landslide. The only catch is that I can't tell anyone what I'm making, including my best friend who is also being promoted to a manager position. I'm probably going to settle for a 50% increase in pay, put in my two weeks notice of leaving at my other job, and ask for 40-50 hours of work per week until school starts back for me in the spring semester.
At this point, it'd be stupid to not take up this offer. I love my coworkers, I can handle the manager duties that I've been given so far (even though I'm not officially a manager), my pay will be extravagant compared to what I'm used to, and everyone there is trying everything in their capabilities and then some to make sure I don't leave.
Probably have to let them know tomorrow.
