ok the modem i am using is a semins 4200 or somthing or other ( im at school i fix the name soon at home)
the modem is pluged into the pc (xp),
the modem has a router pluged into that
my laptop is pluged into the router
what would i have to do to host internet games on my laptop (vista)
btw none of them can host
(sorry if all thats confusing)

my ip allways shows up as 10.0.0.9 (somthing like that) which is the defult one how do i stop this?

early bump...sorry need help

Start/Run type in ipconfig, scroll until you see the default gateway then type that into the web address bar in a web browser. Then you should have access to the router then you port forward Blocklands ports.

I think I said that right..

thx for replying
this is my routers home page

thats the ip config thing

and this is the connection thing

the last ones the one i need help with
were would i get the dns from?

Your DNS should automatically be given to you through your ISP, you do not need to set it manually.

...so what do i put in the perfered dns part?

just figered out somthing my ip was a private ip address
i changed that
now dose the subnet amsk need to be anything athoer than 255.255.255.0?
and my dns on the cmd prompt thing is the same as my ip?
what should i enter into the last step pic?

nvm that stuffed up my internet i fixed it back up now...

The IP in the Port forwarding should go to 192.168.1.7 (that is your computer)

right now it leads to the Router, that's not what you want.

Yes, that's what I have to do.

do i have to change my pcs modem settings?

No, try setting the IP to your laptops like Zerosan said.
