A planet has been discovered orbiting the star Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system. It is 4,2 light years away.
The planet is warm enough for liquid water, is a rocky planet and most likely has an atmosphere. It is currently named Proxima B.

it means that one side of the planet is always facing the star, just like the moon is with us
