Author Topic: Tech Question: New Graphics Card  (Read 1477 times)

I'll get a new graphics card this weekend after an issue I've had with my previous one, it's a Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti, I'm just curious if there is anyone here who have one or knows about it to tell about it's perfomance with Blockland, other games and programs, I believe i've seen someone on the forums who said it has that same card.

its a p solid budget card
But for 50 quids more you couldve gotten a 960 or RX 480

The thing is I don't have extra 50 quids to spend on it, oh yeah I had an AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB, it's a big upgrade in comparison right?

What's a 960 cost? Or even a 1050.
750ti is very capable but 2g isn't enough for most modern games at even 1080p now.

I have a gtx 745, pretty close kind of.

I don't tend to have the most powerful one of the market just something powerful enough that it's atleast better than the one I had

Don't get the NVIDIA GeForce 920M.

I'd be impressed if he installed a mobile GPU in his desktop computer.

Okay, so I have this graphics card running in my computer right now, and I can say that it runs Blockland very well, even with soft shaders/shaders. Most of the time, you'll be getting 100 FPS or above. Other games like CS:GO and BeamNG Drive will run fine, but BeamNG will run a bit slower at an average of about 20-30. It's still playable though.

If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask.

I dont knew much of AMD cards besides the R7 and R9 series
Its probably a decent enough upgrade
I would return it and buy 480 tough. Its basically a GTX 970 but cheaper

A 960 is about 200 quids now

My GTX 960 runs blockland at max at about 200+FPS
havent tried soft shaders tough, I wonder why

You can get the 760 for like 25 quids more than the 750. I would get at least a 760 if i were you.

Oh that is pretty good, I usually had slower perfomance with brick count heavy builds and using soft shaders on the radeon card

I meant the 750 Ti which is different and more powerful than the standard 750

The thing is, the soft shaders I used were the "optimized ones," meaning that it performed much smoother than the OG soft shaders. However, if you wanted to use no shaders on a high brick count map, it would run fine. If you want me to test to see if soft shaders will work on those kinds of maps, I can do that.

I use default shaders most of the time anyway, how does high brick count builds perform with it?
