actually yes you do
memorizing your IPv4 address is pointless because it will change

my ip changes so I don't care what bunch of numbers it's comprised of, I just copy it and give it out anyway

I don't have IPv6 and I wouldn't mind if I did

even then,

I copy it and give it out anyway

it's a lot shorter and easier to share

i prefer having what i know
In what situation would you need to remember your IP? Plus figuring out your IP when you need it takes like, no time at all.

it's a lot shorter and easier to share
With Ctrl+C/V, everything might as well be the same length.

even then,
it's a lot shorter and easier to share
now you're just making excuses. copying and pasting is not any more difficult just because you have to move your mouse a few more inches

And besides, what does the identifier being longer have to do with the entirety of IPv6 being garbage? You can't honestly hate it just because of that. You'd truly have to be a dipstuff.

he just wanted to seem knowledgeable

Not a single device that connects to the internet that I have uses IPv6. They all use IPv4.

the fact that ipv4 is so short is exactly why the shift to ipv6 is actually necessary

we are literally out of ipv4 addresses

The devices (computers, phones, etc) are probably IPv6 compatible. It's either your router, or it's your ISP.

Yeah, they are all compatible but none of them uses it.
