Author Topic: The Overwatch loveuality Discussion Topic  (Read 5269 times)

This may be just my own opinion or perhaps even more pointless than a Blogland post with just 4 paragraphs, but whatever - here goes:

Blizzard has encouraged fans of Overwatch to make artistic content based on the game.

Sounds good!

To support this, Blizzard released the hero reference kit before release, providing official colors and costume and weapon designs for all 21 heroes present at the game's launch. Fans have used these, the game's animated media, and other assets to create a large amount of content, including art, cosplay,

and anime opening-style music videos.

Is that Wikipedia lingo for YouTube Poop Music Video/MaD?

Quote from: Wikipedia
Some Overwatch concepts have created internet memes such as "Gremlin D.Va", which focuses on the character D.Va, portrayed through gamer stereotypes.

As can be expected from the internet.

There also exists researchographic fan art of the game,

Well, rule 34, as can be-

Blizzard made efforts to remove the works. Game director Jeffery Kaplan stated that while they do not want to infringe on anyone's freedom of expression, Blizzard is mindful that many players are teenagers or younger and would hope the community would try to keep such imagery away from them.

...Well, that's that. At least it wasn't robot research, right?

...Oh wait...

So, I suppose this is where /discuss comes.

And, before I forget, the source.

honestly i dont think people should give a forget if theres research of something or not.

if people are tenacious enough, they will do it no matter what

be flattered that people like your characters

rule 34 - no exceptions. a popular game getting research isn't surprising at all.

It's not about having research, it's about the amount of it created and wanted.

it's a popular game, which means it will be popular for research

this is not a new concept.

the % increase in searches doesn't really mean as much as it seems. if 10-50 people searched 'overwatch research' prior to release then 817% isnt nearly as many searches as you would think

Super Hexagon was also a popular game, but how many research was made out of geometric shapes?
I mean, chances are this game isn't an exception to rule 34 either, but it cannot be that much.

Can confirm Super Hexagon rule 34 exists.

wait so you're against research of super hexagon?

hold up whipping out photoshop

Well, I'd be more interested on living things having love than non-living, in a way.

But go ahead, make it.

tbh the more Overwatch research the better

Theres already a very small amount of it that appeals to my special interest

i guess this isn't the time to introduce my rule 34 of tetris

if blizzard didnt want r34 of their game they shouldnt have made it star tons of loveualized female characters

super hexagon doesn't have human characters

Super Hexagon was also a popular game, but how many research was made out of geometric shapes?

It's almost as if context doesn't matter anymore. Why do you think Overwatch has more researchographic fan content compared to Super Hexagon? Go on, give it a bit of a thought.

Just for the sake of discussion, are you against loveualized characters?
