Author Topic: oklahoma (including me) just got hit with a huge earthquake (magn. 5.6 - 5.8)  (Read 2176 times)

jesus christ everything was falling over, but luckily nothing too large or valuable fell over in my room & the window was rattling to hell. news station just said it was possibly a 5.8 while another report is of it being a 5.3

i'm not sure if the magnitude for it is out yet, but it was probably the strongest one we've seen yet (around where i am, can't speak for the whole of oklahoma)

any other oklahoman forumers got hit by it? i'll update this when the site's updated or a story gets added

I'm in Kansas and I just felt it.
I was laying in bed and I heard the wood in the house creak and I thought "is my dad up and walking around?" Then my bed started shaking and it was like what the forget. I got up and looked at the swimming pool and cow water tank and the water was swishing around like from Jurassic park. I've never felt an earthquake before kinda spooky

a news channel my parents were watching said it was a 5.3 somewhere and could be the biggest one in oklahoma history

a news channel my parents were watching said it was a 5.3 somewhere and could be the biggest one in oklahoma history
one im watching is saying it may have been around a 5.8

oh damn it was an earthquake?

and i felt a little bit of it too since i'm in oklahoma right now

5.3, 5.8... Are those normal for California averages?

pawnee reporting it being a 5.6

Norman got hammered. People fell out of beds, stuff got knocked over

reports are coming in from the news & social media that it was felt from houston, texas to iowa, news 9 is doing some good coverage on it

It woke my sister up in Saint Louis. I didn't feel anything though.

i slept through it. gotta get your beauty sleep. though my mom woke up and told me  'WOW WE JUST HAD AN EARTHQUAKE I THINK' even though I was sleeping.

i distinctly remember the whole house started shaking a year ago and we ran into the living room and we're all like 'woah earthquake'
