Servers
Our database server at work has 128gb
SQL Server will use at much RAM as you give it, caching everything. So it uses it all

Ditto that

yes the speed is stuff but it was 2x1.

i got 24 gb and i thought that was ridiculous

lol me too
I actually wound up with it because I was just Pissed about just cause 3
it has like this memory leak or something so I was constantly running into issues running it with 8GB
so I got frustrated and just bought two more 8GB sticks lol. I'm not usually a very compulsive buyer, I think I normally would've just gone with adding one more stick so that it'd be enough to play it. but I was just so exasperated

at least now, I literally never have to worry about memory usage

i want ram contests to be a thing like people who are way into hydraulics

My motherboard is so bad that only half of my 8gb works.
I'm stuck with 4 until I build my new PC because I don't feel like reassembling this piece of crap.

Are you running a 32bit OS?
Because a 32bit OS can only handle 4gb. That's more likely than your motherboard only handling 4, unless it's ancient

get a 64gb and then talk to me
