Well I can't really express it in pictures, but my journey really started at the end of highschool. I finished with barely a 2.0 GPA and wasn't getting accepted into any of the colleges I wanted to go to, so I ended up taking prerequisites for the Engineering Science program at a local community college. After failing my first semester, I was put on academic suspension the rest of the school year. I got my stuff together after my suspension and ended up pulling a 3.5 GPA my next four semesters and earned my Associates Degree in Engineering Science.
I ended up transferring to SUNY Clarkson for my last four semesters where I finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA and went on to graduate with my Bachelors in Environmental Engineering and Hydrology last spring.
In order to get an actual job in my field I had to take an 8 hour long examination called the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in July, which I passed.
Last month I started my first actual Engineering job in Alberta, Canada, but unfortunately I didn't make it past the training and was one of 8 other trainees that ended up getting laid off.
As of right now im back in New York and have a steady job as an Engineering Technician in a local race shop. It really sucks to be sitting here with this degree and not even have a job specific to it, but at least I'm making good money and living comfortably.
I just realized after typing this post up that you meant commute lol.
As for the commute, I'm about a 20 minute drive from work with little to no traffic. Of course I have to be in at 6:30AM, so I miss most of the morning rush.
