Most people I know have about 2 or 3.
I personally have 3.

32GB 16GB and 8GB.

I have several.

One, I have hooked up to my Wii for homebrew,
another, I have on me at all times so I can work on projects wherever I go,
and the rest are backups for all of my important files and projects.

Most of em are throwaway 1 time use junk

And 1 ultra fast 128g one for actual moving movies around.

I have several cheap throw away flash drives that I don't use lying around. All I actually use is one 32gb.

I have a bunch of SD cards though.
A 16gb micro in my phone
3 16gbs; 1 each in my 3DS, Wii, and Wii U
Then 2 32gb and 4 64gb  for my camera
