Author Topic: Why is Trueno's colorset considered amazing?  (Read 2662 times)

Seriously, no matter what colorset I've presented to people, whether it's mine or not, the majority of people say, "It's OK, but it's not as good as Truneo's."

What's so great about the colorset that influences most people to make it their first pick? IMO it's lacking important colors and variety, even though it's praised for it's variety by its supporters.

its always been the go-to colorset for everyone due to its popularity. i used to use it but now i despise colorsets and just stick with default.

I just use Default Extended, mainly because default doesn't have ALL the colors I'd like, but the default extended has just enough.

How dare you all of you

Its got a variety of colors that work for a variety of themes.
It's not too *unsaturated, but it's not overly saturated.

Or, you know, everyones just used to using it so it must be superior to everything else.
I myself fancy a modified version of Emil's with some Trueno colors mixed.

not to mention i think truenos has all of the default colors in the colorset

I only use truenos colorset because I don't want to switch to any others since every save I have uses truenos
the brown section is still stuff and colors are weirdly categorised, and I like the architectual colorset better, but I don't use it becuase there's no easy way to switch (and I've been using the same colorset for 6 years now)

That's a good question actually, how did Trueno's got to be such a standard? Was it one of the first colorsets or something?

its popular because its popular
still a decent all-around colorset though

I use Trueno's but edited the colors for more architectural needs, since I mostly build structures and detailed interiors.

i love the trueno's 'specials' tabs. they've got such unique colors that are just perfect for so many situations. it's hard to think why but whenever I change colorsets I always want to go back to trueno's.

It had that weed green in it. imo to make it great it'd need to have more transparents and a transparent brown

I always use my own custom color set I've made which is like truenos but slightly less vivid colors and much more useful colors and transparents

TBH Truenos colorset is too vivid and sharply colored, its headache causing

yeah i had my own edit of trueno's that i used, but it's the best hands down
ton of colors, including all the defaults, without being overbearing
the specials were great, too
