malaysia airlines flight mh17 was shot down over eastern ukraine in 2014, killing all 298 people on board. a dutch investigation has revealed that a russian buk missile was the culprit. the missile launcher was moved from russia into ukraine, downed the plane, and moved back into russia, according to investigators.

the missile launcher was in pro-russia rebel-held lands when it fired its payload, as well.

russia has condemned the investigation's findings, calling it "politically motivated"

It was confirmed to be a Buk missile fired, which is a russian missile. It was also confirmed to have been fired by pro-russian rebels. Given the fact that the pro-russian rebels were funded and supplied by Russia, this was essentially confirmed as Russia's doing. I don't know why people are just picking this up now.
