Author Topic: Games I can play on a Chromebook?  (Read 1722 times)

My school assigned these piece-of-stuff runnothing chromebooks. Worst OS ever but whatever.
Any games that aren't trash I can play?

You can actually install linux on the machine and play any linux-compatible low-spec game you'd like

i can't remember, wasn't there a clone of quake entirely for free on the default ubuntu/debian/whatever repos?
would that run well?

Can't install a new OS, its a school computer.

oh yeah Minecraft doesn't work either.

that hasn't stopped me before, i just end up making a multiboot
then when i have to turn it in, i simply restore it to factory settings

(unless it's locked out by admins somehow)

Hmm, I'll have to try that

do a bit of research first btw
wouldn't want you to accidentally brick your chromebook (is that even possible?)

Chromebook hate. smh.

They're the best for schools. I deployed 300 ACER C738T's where I work.

It's not your toy, and not for games. Research something. The good thing is that if your school isn't total stuff you'll have received a touch-screen Chromebook that's getting Google Play (and thus every Android App.)

If not, tough luck.

And yes, Minecraft PE is working on my ASUS Flip. Google's had it on and off due to "compatibility issues" but it's a can-do.

there are websites that have emulators that run in your browser for it

i get a smooth 70 on it, on rose's deathrun, and im running the stuff version

my school gave out the ThinkPad Yoga 11e laptop with Windows 8.1
