Make sure it's small enough(The forums don't resize them for you), then click the profile button at the top. From there, look around.

Here ill give you an avitar template just draw on it in MSpaint or some other program then go to profile then forum profile info then click "I will upload my own picture" then click browser then uploude your pic

It's funny how I had no idea what the hell I was doing when I was setting my avatar. I was more than surprised that it actually turned out.
