Author Topic: is "the earth is flat" a meme or wot  (Read 10902 times)

I don't know how people buy into the "flat-earth" stuff even though it's been scientifically proven that the earth is a huge sphere orbiting the sun

imo I think they're only doing it for publicity

this is the same mistake i made with my nihilism spoutings
i made a bunch of posts thinking i was smart enough to declare them when i really looked like a dumbass who was spouting "deep" stuff
im not trying to be deep. im just saying, uncertainty is the most certain thing you can believe in. it allows you to be open to the possibility that anything can be true or false. that way I don't stick to one side and say "oh well its fact and everyone else is wrong" because then i become subjective.

Then again this is a paradox because my belief of uncertainty is possibly true or false. forget.

They figured it out a long ass time ago too

It's false

but that's entirely subjective to you~

Not really. I'm at a point in life where I am confident in my own ability. I don't have the angst in me to believe that all is uncertain and chaotic.

Not really.
but it kinda is. we can pretty much prove that popular opinion can be wrong at times, so we can't just take a survey and see how many people think you're smart/dumb/correct/wrong. so that leaves that when you say "hey im smart" thats your own opinion of yourself. Saying "a lot of people think im smart" is correct since it can be pretty much true.

Saying "i'm emotionally healthy" is also hard to determine since you could literally be in a mental institution right now and the forum is just your own mental image of what's normal. its all open for interpretation and stuff w/e

Your certainty about anything can be disproven at most levels. Even when you say something as elementary as 'the sky is blue' it can be argued that the sky is red according to someone who's colorblind. They wouldn't know they're colorblind unless they had a comparison to someone else. Then there's the problem that maybe 90% of the population is colorblind and the small minority actually sees correctly. Then that means that the sky is actually red and we're all just loving handicapped.

Or maybe i'm the handicap here. Its open for interpretation.

While you're interpreting reality, I'm living in it. I like relying on objective facts and observational skills.

so that leaves that when you say "hey im smart" thats your own opinion of yourself.

I think he's smart

But those people are literally crazy

We know they're not normal and we don't treat them like they are

We can scientifically determine what's wrong with them

I'm living in it.
Well how do you know you're actually living in it? Can you actually prove that everything you see is real? You can say that because you see stuff and feel comfortable with your own decisions you're in control, but can that really be proven?

jesus christ i should stop

Or maybe i'm the handicap here.
This is the first correct thing you've said in this entire thread

hey look the earth is round
clearly nasa's camera is round but the earth is flat

even an amateur can spot that, dumb round-earth believing ass

Well how do you know you're actually living in it?

Because I do. There's not a good enough argument that what I'm living in isn't reality, so I don't consider anything except the likely to be true.

Can you actually prove that everything you see is real?

I don't really have to, if you don't believe that anything you see is real then that's your problem, not mine.

You can say that because you see stuff and feel comfortable with your own decisions you're in control, but can that really be proven?

Again, you talk about proof like I need to prove anything to you. I don't feel that's necessary because I don't need your validation in order to continue living in reality.

Again, you talk about proof like I need to prove anything to you.
I ask a question. You don't need to answer it. Don't act like i'm forcing you to prove it; i was just asking.

earth is flat because perry's mom sat on it
