I'd say libertarian liberal—but that is too minimized for my myriad of ideological points.
On criminal justice, I believe in the diagnosis of the right, but the response I believe in is more center-left. More specifically talking American race relations. For-profit prisons need to go. The war on drugs need to end because it is incredibly ineffective and actually incentiveses drug markets, driving up demand. Marijuana needs to be reclassified as a Schedule 2 substance so that research may be funded.
On healthcare, I am pretty leftist. Healthcare and pharmaceutical companies have grown too powerful and due to FDA regulations, no one can contend them. Obamacare sponsored certain companies and thus made the market less free and competitive, something that is unhealthy for the Economy and recipients of healthcare.
Banks need to be regulated, and the fed needs to come under scrutiny. The gold standard either needs to be restored, or social security needs to take the form of a secondary American currency that operates like bonds and is backed by gold value. Companies netting >$10,000,000 a year need to provide full and transparent reports to the state legislature in which their headquarters exists, containing their business dealings and capital transactions yearly. Companies netting >$75,000,000 a year need to provide the same reports to the federal government for yearly review. Financial institutions of total asset value >$6,000,000 must also submit these kind of reports.
While the livelier the economy, the better it is for the people overall, climate change is a serious issue, and the world needs to put serious effort toward ensuring global stability. A measure to reverse it by 2050 would be proper. (Jill Stein's diagnosis isn't too far off, but her suggested reaction is loving nuts.)
Public education should either be completely free or be cheap enough that a summer job or a job during school at minimum wage or slightly over at ≈12-15 hours/week could pay for. An educated class brings forth better jobs domestically, and uplifts the culture as a whole is necessary in cultivating a capable workforce and a more competitive market.
Foreign wars and stations should be replaced with international coalitions. The military is a significant drain on our tax money and the funding should go toward paying off the deficit.
Gun laws for law-abiding citizens must be relaxed, but background checks and psychological tests for first-time gun owners must be enforced. If anyone is on the no-fly list, they must not be able to obtain additional guns. If they already own a gun, they must also be watched by the FBI for as long as a statute of limitations applies. If the FBI finds it suitable, they may obtain a warrant to confiscate the guns, to be returned to the owner once/if they are removed from the no-fly list.
Immigration laws must be enforced to a respectable federal minimum. Border states may also find extra measures to enforce them. I frown on amnesty. Immigration processes must be simplified to a process no longer than 7 years for any applicant who is not the target of legal inquiries locally or internationally. Visa laws must be enforced.
Political correctness must not be tolerated if it is a tool used to defame others (in a libellous fashion) or silence freedom of speech. College campuses must remove punitive word filters that hamper temperament of ideological prowess.
Fund public works to help improve decrepit parts of our infrastructure. Better public transport should be funded. Shift transport away from highway travel when railways, light rail, and trams can supplant them.
This is just some of many. For the sake of not clouding up this topic, if you want to discuss this with me, please do so over PM or Discord (#7580). Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for not creating an unnecessary public dispute.
