The only one on that chart that is anywhere near where they should be is Jill

Johnson is correct. He's very economically right-winged but not as "libertarian" ((socially)) as he should be

so she should still be on the left of the chart
I doubt either Democrat or Republican candidates have been outside of the blue region in over 50 years

That only refers to how they've split "left" and "right" from "Authoritarian" and "Libertarian" lol

so she should still be on the left of the chart
yeah and the context it provides describes the fact that american politics uses slightly different understandings of left and right

late edit:
also note that donald Annoying Orange actually shares some views with sanders on economic policy, e.g. they both lean more toward more isolationist trade policy, whereas clinton's perspective is much more globalist

I mean, he definitely wasn't a socialist, but the New Deal could arguably be considered a socialist policy.

throughout his career he pushed social-liberal (or to americans, just liberal) reforms that the conservative supreme court constantly fought against

compared to his peers, he was a socialist

Im a Libertarian christian right winger.

damn look at those clever ass 28 people who voted for the non-serious last option that stuffs hilarious

yeah and the context it provides describes the fact that american politics uses slightly different understandings of left and right

it's exclusively referring to the idea that there's only "left and right" as far as most Americans are concerned, so the chart is still inaccurate

damn look at those clever ass 28 people who voted for the non-serious last option that stuffs hilarious
for real, i hate when a perfectly good poll (not that this poll is one of them, but still) is ruined because the OP put in a meme answer.

no, i have never seen an independent count, therefore i have no reason to believe this is the case

8 2 7 2 10 1,200,500 12 a b c
