I feel ya dude. finding this also made me a bit sad, as I had stuff TONS of these, but they got lost in a crack den or some stuff idk

That's because 3626-3 is one of the earlier face-prints for minifigures, appearing first in about 1992, and running through to about 2005. LEGO Island was 1997, and used several standard face-prints of the time (since the pool was limited before the late-2000s).
