Author Topic: should I take this job offer  (Read 872 times)

ok so this chinese buffet place wants me to work there on the weekends from 12pm to 8pm. pay is minimum wage and all I do is stand at the front and move people to there tables.

yeah the pay is stuff but there litterally is like no other places that will hire me before my age.

on one hand I want to take the job so I can finally buy the stuff I want but on the other hand I won't have anytime to cooldown or hang out with friends.

I say go for it. If into doesn't work, quit or deliberately get yourself fired.

deliberately get yourself fired.
why would you do this instead of quitting?

I say do it. I get minimum for cashing checks and doing people's bills all day, which isn't really bad at all. If you get minimum for hosting people then by god take it!

why would you do this instead of quitting?
To get paid the indemnization.

take it
any job > no job

To get paid the indemnization.
i'm assuming it wouldn't be much. probably not worth getting fired for and having to tell future employers why you were terminated

To get paid the indemnization.
severance pay, I think, is the phrase you're looking for in english
anyway you're not gonna get severance pay OR unemployment working 16 hours a week, at minimum wage at, what, 14 years old?
on the other hand, getting yourself fired is an awful mark against future attempts at getting a job, and I can't even begin to imagine why someone would ever suggest it

how old are you? ANd do you mean 12 am to 8 pm, 8 hour shift?
