Author Topic: Multi-Clienting (Playing blockland on two screens, 2 players, same name.)  (Read 3917 times)

I wanted to test this out on a private server. Some people think it's a hack but it clearly isn't. Anyone know how to do this?

You are risking getting revoked. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

as long as both computers are under the same network it's ok

I don't think it's against the rules and I'm going to use it on a private multiplayer server, for film making use. Not on a public server. But I'm not sure if it's banned to do or not. If it's completely fine, I'm going to go parading around on servers. I think the only risk you take is being banned from servers because people think you are "hacking"

oh on two SCREENS

yeah it's totally fine.

you can multi client all you want (whether it's in a public or private lobby) as long as it's not some script and it's under the same network. so again, you're totally fine

Hold on, What I mean is playing blockland on ONE computer with TWO blocklands and having TWO players. I don't think I said it right, sorry. I don't mean like double monitors.

EDIT-

This is what I mean

no.

Q: Can you use one key for multiple people?
A:
One key can be used for any number of people as long as they are using the same name and are at the same IP address (ie in the same house).

Clan tags can be used to distinguish different people with the same name.

you're fine dcseal.

you're fine dcseal.
Thank you. But i'm not very smart at all and this sounds cool and all but..

I'm not sure how to do it.
(And i'm asking if anyone knows how)
Do you launch multiple blocklands? Use some network glitch?
This is what I mean

Are you using steam?
Yes. I'm guessing I can't do it then because you can't launch it twice.
But wait. I have a key. So can't I download blockland with my key instead of buying off the blockland site?

If you have a Blockland key (not just a steam gift key), which would be a copy of Blockland that was purchased outside of Steam, then yes. You can just open that multiple times.
But there is a solution to Steam.

1) Go into the Steam Blockland folder, where blockland.exe is.
2) Create a new text file in here (Right click in the folder > new > Text Document) and name it steam_appid
3) Open the file and paste this into it and save:
Code: [Select]
2503404) Make a new shortcut for blockland.exe, probably on the desktop if most convenient.
5) Right click that shortcut and select Properties
6) At the very end of the "Target:" field, add this (don't delete any existing text):
Code: [Select]
ptlaaxobimwroe -steam
(it should now look something like...)
Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Blockland\blockland.exe" ptlaaxobimwroe -steam"7) You should now be able to open it as many times as you want through this shortcut, and you'll still have the overlay, achievements, and hours logged.

I know, I know I know. This sounds stupid.
I have a apple computer. I just don't like windows. And I can guess that this doesn't work with mine.

Ah sorry. I don't have any idea on how macs work.

I'm trying it by using text edit. I have access to the blockland folder, trying it on mac.
-edit Found a block. There is no properties if I right click a desktop shortcut. I do believe there is a way still. I'll look later. Oh well.

I think I might be able to do it If I could open blockland twice on steam.

Is it possible to get the desktop version of blockland since I already have a key?
