Author Topic: Sure seems like Apple doesn't like ports.  (Read 5482 times)

Yep, sure seems like it.
They announced a new macbook pro http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/, and the loving thing has only 4 thunderbolt 3 ports and a headphone jack. Where's the normal USB? Where's the card slots? Where's the ethernet? Where's the HDMI? Where's all the other ports? Does this stupid ass company think having only a few of the same port on a laptop is better? Sorry, but I don't want to use 1000 adapters dangling around my laptop. And let's not mention that the base model is $1500. Nice example of overpricing again, Apple.

I think that Apple is one of those companies that is a hit or miss.  You either like their products or you don't like them.  I can see the need to replace basic USB and HDMI ports with thunderbolt as they have a faster response time, but not all devices like televisions support them, so you have to buy an adapter.  SO they are making money on adaptors and their computers lol.

Also, Apple is overpriced for a good reason, my brother uses an apple dextop computer and has 32 gb of RAM and two processors, it costs a forget ton more to build/buy a computer with the same specs

Apple is slowly screwing themselves into irrelevancy. Good for them.

To add to the OP, it's like they're saying "oh hey we added this totally not a gimmick touch bar thingy and we did some other improvements i guess but ah well forget the consumers on their basic needs lets remove the ports everyday users use and force them to buy adapters so we get a lot of money!!!" to be honest.

Like i said, that's how they make money

It's Apple. They love "innovations" of their old models, like the completely new iPhone!

Really?

my brother uses an apple dextop computer
wow, what a waste of money

32 gb of RAM and two processors
Absolute overkill.

Show me how.

It's not even because it's "outdated". They just want to force their standard.

To be fair the Thunderbolt 3 port is essentially a USB-C port as well. I don't agree with their removing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7, but slowly (keyword is slowly) moving to USB-C is not bad. They should have done 2 regular USB ports and to USB-C in my opinion.

nobody forced anyone to buy the new models and adapt to them tbh
if you want one with usb-a ports, cd drive, sd card or whatever.. get a refurbished

well why would they, you cant use anything on an apple device anyway.

Every time we watch a movie on the TV we have to use my moms windows laptop which is slow as stuff. She always bitches about how slow it is and how macs are so much better. But guess what? We sure as stuff can't use my brothers macbook air because theres no loving HDMI port. So it's PC or bust.

Wheres your god now maccigarettes?

apple or its fandom doesn't exist
