i personally prefer gas just because it starts with actual heat instead of taking a minute to get to a decent temperature

Really? I've used both too and I'm fairly confident on the first two points. I may be wrong about the third depending on where you live, but where I am electricity tends to be significantly cheaper than gas. As for temperature consistency, it would make more sense with gas because you have immediate control over the output of the flame; whereas the controls on an electric just lowers or increases the run cycle, not the actual temperature the heating element reaches.

I have both and my gas stove heats up instantly while the electric takes a while. Both are about the same price to run for me. The electrical one has a thermometer and I can specify the temp (20°C-270°C). The gas one just has min -> max with an brown townog thermometer on the oven ranging from 100 -> 400.


The electric one heats upto the desired temp, shuts off, and turns on again when below 5° if the desired temp much like a fridge.

i neglected to mention that I was mainly referring to the first two, speed and intensity. In my experience, it's always taken longer for me to cook on an electric stove than a gas stove. also, with a gas stove you just turn the knob and boom, fire

I have an electrical stove that doesn't work so well, which is why I prefer my grandparent's gas stove. But I'm sure there's others that are better, so my opinion may seem biased.

one thing about gas stoves is that you dont have to guess whether or not the hardware is working well/as expected. if the fire doesnt look hot or big enough you just turn it up, or down if its too much.
