Author Topic: iphone 5 battery issue  (Read 2102 times)

there is an issue with my iphone. after i got back from a long car trip i tried to plug in my phone to my charger, and it didn't pickup the charge. Sometimes this happens, so i usually just flip the charger cable over or whatever and put it back in a few times or whatever and it seems to work just fine. But now, it's stopped working and i don't know why. it will stay at 1% for 10-15 minutes, and then die. When it dies, it charges up and powers on just as it should. When the phone is actually on, however, it will start at 4% for about 5 seconds, then go down to 3% for 1 minute, 2% for 5 minutes, and 1% for about 10 minutes. It's been doing this for the past 2 hours now. It's obviously not the charger or the charging cable, so it's an issue with the phone. What would it be?

Check for dust lint in the charging hole. If nothing then your battery is dead.

If the issue isn't with your charger or your phone... and its a battery issue... it might just be a hunch... but I think the battery is the problem..

I recommend getting a new battery.

We haven't even worked out what the problem is, there's no point buying a new battery and then finding out it was the charger or something.

go to the apple store, I think they do battery swaps (possibly free?)

This happens to me here and there. Oddly enough, turning it off and back on did the trick.

See this is why I love samsung phones

my note 7 indicates the status of the battery by whether or not it is currently combusting

Don't listen to these sillies. The problem is the wall adapter. Your phone is getting less power than it needs to stay on. If you plug your phone, turn it off, leave it over the night, it will be at 100% when you turn it on.

I've had this happen with a poor electrical network. It's not the phone nor the cable. It's either a dying wall adapter or a stuffty power grid.
