FYI: I work at a fast food restaurant based in Alabama but with a few locations in other states named Jack's.

Dress nice.
When they ask you questions, try and figure out the employer. Some will want stories and to get to know "you", others want to just know if you can do the job.
Do some research on any place that calls you back. Knowing the history of the job will help answer interview questions.
Finally, when they ask you if you have any questions, make sure you have some. It comes off as aloof if you don't.

I would have liked to work at a game store, But out of the 200+ places I applied at, I only got 1 call back 2 months after sending the application in.
