The plot is about Lightning McQueen suffering an injury in the race, recovers, decides to upgrade himself and, under the mentorship of an eager racing technician, tries to prove himself against a new breed of cars.

That's roughly it, at least.

What a coincidence. Last week I was thinking about if they would make a cars 3 or not, since cars 2 released in 2011 and the span of 6 years per movie.

The trailer looks interesting though, looking at a different approach than the other 2 movies.
