Also no, this pizzagate thing isn't a big deal, it's just a bunch of loosely tied together conspiracy theories perpetuated by the fallout of the presidential election. I dunno how anyone can reasonably believe half our federal government is covering up a child enthusiast ring and using pizza slang as a codeword specifically to leave a clue trail behind for internet sleuths.

People were throwing out personal information and the admins didn't have the time or resources to verify who's personal info matched who, so they took the easy route of banning the sub. Because the stupid kids couldn't play nice, they got their toys taken away. If you think that's part of the huge conspiracy then I don't know what to tell you.

You don't solve the issue by throwing it all away completely, if you're an actual responsible moderator who cares then you would sift through it and figure that stuff out with you and your team.

on a serious note, considering this is probably something that funnyjunk would eat up a lot i'm in the grey about this. i'd normally give the benefit of the doubt all the time with the theories to see what happens but after stuff like the john podesta thing or the instensive e-mail claims and that "Ben" guy that shot soemone else, i'm not sure tbh.

Actually, you do. The easiest solution is usually the best solution when it comes to community management on a large scale like reddit. The admins push for self-moderation of subreddits for this very reason, which is why they have to step in during special cases where a subreddit like /r/pizzagate is going complete bugnuts.

It's more like this: You promised your roommate that you wouldn't throw his food out if he made sure he kept it properly wrapped in the fridge to avoid spoilage. Next week you open the fridge to see that he didn't keep his end of the deal and you're forced with letting his spoiled food stink up your fridge or toss it and piss him off.

My firsthand exposure to it is 4chan misinterpreting the Clintons pulling power to save a journalist, an asian woman and her children as something wildly different and obscure. I watched that stuff propagate on a few boards until it hit reddit, when it loving blew up into a stuffstorm of fury.

I don't want to claim that the evidence is as stupid as it is because you never loving know anymore, but I just don't personally believe it, and I gave my reasoning already for it. But since you're too childish to realize that people can hold opinions and refuse to defend them at the same time, I won't bother to try and post "evidence" of why I don't believe it. If you don't like it, then insulting me isn't the best way to go about changing it.

i dunno how funnyjunk is related or who ben is but that's your decision and that's fine
we're here to try and help convince people and to spread the word, not force a belief on others
(at least, i am. ive been labelled a tinfoil hat theorist several times over this topic so getting discussion on it and convincing people it exists is very important to me)
though i will have to recommend you keep your eyes open and try to at least discuss it with others, mainstream media is claiming this all as fake news and they cant censor it if everyone has heard of it

if it turns out to be true and we can save these children/stop this ring then that would be perfect

that's just some stuff moderating right there dude. And sure reddit is large scale, but you're dealing with one subreddit, and incredibly new one at that, so there isn't even that much to sift through.
