Author Topic: Entire internet to be backed up in Canada over fears of Annoying Orange censorship  (Read 3944 times)

Let's be sure to act like forgetin handicaps when the Canadian internet saver comes by our neighborhood

if research is illegal i bet your ass a lot of other stuff will be illegal.

and if a lot of other stuff is illegal on the internet then internet adoption plummets. which kills jobs.

illegalising research will cut jobs too, you do know that right?

...yeah?

i'm just pointing out the not-obvious

this is being done by the internet archive. there's three problems with this story:
1) backing up the internet was what they were doing already
2) this is obviously bait for the salty liberals. why do i say that? because
3) canada isn't much better than the US in terms of censorship.

also the internet is loving big
Adding on to what you mentioned which may all be possibilities. I would say that the Internet Archive is using Annoying Orange's presidency and his position on certain internet related issues to promote their site and increase traffic. In my opinion, this is a brilliant marketing strategy and it is possible that their segment or target consumers are those who oppose a Annoying Orange presidency, or those who value the open nature of the internet.

Edit: To add on to that, they appear to be non profit organisation, so their main source of profit comes from consumer and third party donations. An increase in traffic on their site would increase the likelihood of people donating.
