Author Topic: Mall of America hires first black Santa  (Read 6034 times)

its pretty ridiculous to assume that picturing a black santa will make black children feel better about themselves

And you're total stuff at greentext. So much so that you got laughed out of a topic
being 'good' at greentext is not an accomplishment
It's joke
jokes on them i was only pretending etc. etc.

it's already pretty well established that representation is really important to children.

Neither is being bad at it

If you seriously thought that was anything other then a joke then you really are handicapped.

This Santa probably has bigger and better gifts than the others.

Nah, the best gift you'd get from black Santa would be a 1995 Camry with duct-taped windows and 150,000 in miles.

A black man working at a mall as a Santa is by no means a bad practice.
Hiring a black man to be Santa at a mall just because he's black and you need "diversity," is, in my opinion, a bad practice. Not saying that this is what happened here, but, I wouldn't agree with it if they only did it because they needed a black person in there.

I hope he enjoys working there and I hope he encounters no problems while he does.

well in the eyes of the Great Whites, you actually can't include black people in anything or else you're doing it for the sake of diversity. why? because forget you is why. I don't have to explain myself to you coloreds

that's pretty cool, but the real question is what race the elves are

im starting to think foxscotch probably assumes all white people ever are culture destroying imperialists that hate every POC and that he has to fight back against the horrors of white tribals everywhere, when really nobody cares except for the actual white nationalists, trolls who utilize sarcasam and provocative statements and liberals like himself, so then threads like these go from simple and light-hearted "hey look, thats kinda cool" statements to rants about why white people should pay back reparations or how black people should be sent back to africa

this also applies to poliwhirl to an extent and maybe beachbum if I decided to dedicate another paragraph to whatever the hell he's doing but i think the point has been made

Was this supposed to make you sound like a handicap? You did a bangup job

The bigger part of this issue isn't a lack of black mall Santas and more an issue about white interviewers and reporters championing this as a "beacon of diversity" when it may just be because this guy was appropriate for the job. I live in the Minneapolis suburb where the MOA is, and it's pretty diverse. Like, forget, how patronizing must it be for a black person that every achievement in their life is some rebellion against "racial hierarchies"? I'm not black, but most people are just looking for a way, man.

the amount of people i've seen overall get irritated over this is surprising

like how tf are people going to get mad over the skin color of a guy that's not even real.

i guess that goes for the people who draw jesus as white, too

"The forget you want for Christmas, my brother?"

"I want a Mac-10, Santa!"

Idk i'm glad they did this just for the jokes that are now possible
