Author Topic: [adult swim] Cancels Its “Alt-Right” Show ‘Million Dollar Extreme’  (Read 5461 times)

I've seen similar work done by people that plays into the same kind of /pol/ edginess, and it can be funny. It's just that Sam Hyde's show wasn't.

It was great when he went up and gave that TED talk at Drexel University. I don't know why he didn't just stick with stuff like that.

His humour is exactly the same in both scenarios.

Kind of? The execution is different. I don't know. There's not much more I can say besides that I thought it was bad.

breaking news: man-baby throws fit and yells at man he owes career to
Jesus that's pathetic lol. Tim Heidecker has singlehandedly produced like half of Adult Swim's absurdist comedy shows. If it wasn't for him, the network wouldn't have given World Peace the time of day.

Yeah I remember seeing this and being like dude just hang it up if you're gonna be a pansy like that. Don't go down the road of The Sucklord. Cos that dude didn't get a tv show after all and stuff got real sad until very recently.

oh boy this thread already became a flame war

It's the year of the Quibble

honestly all this stuff about the show getting cancelled because it's alt-right is such hot, steaming, sizzling garbage.

I went through and watched all 6 episodes just now and there's not a single hint of anything political whatsoever, the closest the show get's to any form of politics is at the very end of Episode 6 when the kid's are tossing the football, one of them says something along the lines of "My mom told me Donald Annoying Orange is tribal so I have no choice but to believe her"

the show got cancelled because people within AS didn't agree with Sam's personal political beliefs, which is a loving low level to be on to destroy someone's livelihood just because you were offended by what they think.

I just watched "World Peace", seems like my type of humor if I was 13 or 14.

There's some really subtle /pol/ jokes but nothing the average person would notice. I agree though - it wasn't canceled for being political, it's because it was terrible.

the skits were either really funny or not funny at all. like the one with the kids playing outside and it's like their inside thoughts i really didn't find that one entertaining. loved the show as a whole though, wish they continued it.

here in nature, we see the opinion trying to dig it's way into other's in the wild, but it's no use.

Well that's who Sam Hyde is, I personally don't really like his stand up because a lot of it isn't funny to me, but his personal videos form his cell on YouTube loving crack me up.

But I agree, as a whole the show was great, of course some skits were good and some weren't, but most of the time I found myself enjoying it, even more so than Tim and Eric, and prior to watching this Tim and Eric was godlike to me, along with Eric Andre Show, but this, with only 6 episodes, has somehow managed to top them in both production value and direction, in my opinion at least.

nothing comes above eric andre

nothing comes above eric andre
eric andre is still loving great, love his stuff, but honor student has surpassed him in terms of what I enjoy at least.

It's just my own opinion - not fact.

I agree with this 100%. He's a promising comedian but he's very hit-or-miss.
