Author Topic: What is the most horrifying creature scream/noise you've ever heard?  (Read 1998 times)

Basically, any sound that a creature (real of fictional) can make that makes you pee your pants.

I'm talking about things like this:
just the whole forgetin' thing (WARNING: loud)
0:19-0:45
0:12-0:27

RULES:
  • No words. If there's words, it can't be a human saying them.
  • No jump-scares. The sounds have to be scary on their own.
  • If a sound is loud, tell us, please.

I'm curious because I've heard some stuff but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot. That, and I need some inspiration because I'm planning on creating something of my own. Let's fill each other in on stuff that terrifies us.

i remember once while i was outside at my parents house, it was probably like 9 at night when i heard a bobcat scream not 10 feet away from me.

i was paralyzed with fear for a tiny bit due to the fact bobcats sound like screaming women, and im not joking. it pitch perfect sounded like a woman was being murdered right across the property line. maybe one was. i was way too inhebriated to find out myself

For me it would be

Fiction Choice: The hunter pounce sounds (WARNING: Loud) from left 4 dead would be pretty terrifying in real life.

Non-fiction Choice: While not completely terrifying, the koala makes a bellowing sound after winning a fight for a tree, showing that they are the alpha

do you have nothing better to do than complain you loving whiny bitch

every morning there's wild dogs screaming and howling in my woods because i live in a heavily forested area, pretty spooky

i have a friend who's the lead vocalist in a hardcore band and he can do the creepiest screams, grunts, growls, etc

honestly i think the thing's howl from john carpenter's the thing is so damn terrifying. if anyone i knew vocalized that stuff i'd torch em too

also the tripod horn from war of the worlds

IRL, the sound of huge junebugs flying past your ears while you sleep outside

/alarm crouched in 1st person

The sound of the eternal honking when lost beyond the verge of the tree lines still haunts me to this day.
