Drones from the 8th Peripheral Support Task Force arrive at the landing site and freeze to observe from a distance, a large number of the units scanning. A few flyers glide above at around 24,000 feet above the land.
After around six minutes, some of the more advanced detection systems in the local area begin to pick up strange waves and pulses of infrared energy reaching them. After about 16 seconds of these pulses, they stop, and several leave the area, with no physical harm coming to the landing party or equipment.
Some of the higher-altitude drones begin to circle back to the battle epicenter.
Eventually, a different land drone arrives, and it seems to have enough capacity to carry someone.
