Author Topic: What is a good substitute for screen cleaner?  (Read 986 times)

I have a ton of dirty screens in my house an no one seems to notice except me, what would be a good alternative to screen cleaner?

spray on a forgetton, use a papertowel and rub it around the glass lightly, then turn the towel and scrub like hell

that should do it

microfibre cloth and water

windex

I remember reading that this can damage the screen or remove a protective coating on some screens somewhere, I wouldn't advise Windex as you can get by fine with just water

use water on a cloth then wipe it, use another dry cloth to wipe up any wetness, you won't need anything more than water unless someone has spat on or touched the screen with something grody.

Don't do this. what's even the screen dirty with?

I think my brother took a stick of deodorant and decided it would be a good idea to rub it on the tv. There's also something on my wii u gamepad but i can't tell what it is, just looks like dirt.

Edit: might be crayon on my wii u

It's best you take a lightly damp kleenex or as espio suggested a microfibre cloth and try to rub it off gently after you've dampened it

It's probably just caked on there so it need to be moistened up so you can wipe it away.

Thats not deodorant :cookieMonster:

this is an awful solution

dust off gamer gear compressed air

Isopropyl alcohol to clean off any oils and smudges. Wipe with a microfiber cloth.

The alcohol will clean of oils like a dream, but leaves streaks like hell. So finish off with water. The purer, the better, distilled if possible. Then wipe again with a microfiber cloth.

Never fails me.
