i think its that gamemode where you start under a massive dirt ceiling and you have to dig/build off of that
or if instead of a shovel they get a dirt tool and can place as much dirt as they want, but only can shovel a limited number of bricks at a time.
..or the most likely correct answer is just reverse CTF with trenches - bring the flag to the enemy's base
