Author Topic: Blockland is not booting up.  (Read 3030 times)

I just got a new computer and the first thing I did when I booted it up was install blockland through the main Blockland.us sight. I dont have the game on steam so I had to use the demo installer and then enter my top secret blockland code to unlock the full version of the game. all of this worked the first time I booted the brand new computer, but after installing some updated I tried to play blockland again. It worked but then I had the desire to play with some addones, so I navigated my way over to the addones section in the forums to find blockland glass is here. I as an old RTB player got excited and decided to download and drag it over to the addones folder. After doing this I attempted to boot up the game so i can enjoy it as I always have, but to my frustration the program didn't launch properly. The console got stuck and wouldnt proceed to launch the game. My first thought was that this was due to the addone I just installed, so I removed it from the folder and dragged it onto my desktop for safe keeping, but even after this the console got stuck on the same thing. I have tried uninstalling and re installing both the regular version and the portable version but they all come down to the console getting stuck on the same command. Could it be because the demo installer on the website is 32 bit and I'm running a windows 10, a 64 bit based operating system? Help would be greatly appreciated, I love playing this game and it would make me very sad if I cant run it on my new and only computer.

This is the console when I attempt to boot:

does your blockland installation have a config folder?

No it does not. How do I acquire this folder? why is it not working out of the blue?

You probably accidentally removed it or dragged it to another folder. Reinstall blockland in a separate directory and move the config folder in, or look for the folder.

Okay, both my regular blockland folder and my portableblockland folder has the config file, but I am still encountering the same problem. It only seems to work if i restart the computer, or just completely out of random, and even then it still asks for my authentication key even though I have put it in before.

describe your issue in more detail. what exactly is happening?
example:
boot up computer
blockland runs fine
close blockland
open blockland and blockland crashes
restart computer
blockland runs fine

and are the files in a writable folder? as in, can the program both read and write files in the folder?

Ok this is exactly what happens.

I click on the blockland launcher, the screen that comes before the console comes up and loads correctly, then the console will come up and then it will just stop and not do anything until i close it. every time it does this the console stops at the same place. its not that it crashes its just that nothing happens at all and the game is not launched

how long do you wait for it to start? sometimes blockland can take 10-20 seconds to actually start responding depending on how good your computer/os processor management is.

I usually wait a little while to see if anything will happen. that being going and getting a glass of water, to not closing the window and doing something on a different application to discover later that the game still hasent launched. I actually just now got blockland to work out of some stroke of luck. I have no idea what changed. for some reason its very inconsistent for when it works which doesnt make any sense to me at all.

The game working is totally out of chance though. I just tried to launch the program and it did the same thing as before by just plain not working.
