Author Topic: [NEWS] UN sides with Palestine; urges end to Israeli encroachment of land  (Read 10546 times)

The State of Israel was made by the UN after WWII as a sanctuary for Jews since Jerusalem is historically the Jewish holy land. The land was made out of the British Mandate of Palestine, a majority Arab state (as the region has been since, like, 900AD or something) after being taken from the Ottomans.

The creation of the State of Israel pushed all of the Arabs out of their lands and homes onto their designated Arab State and out of the Jewish State. Israel started a war with Palestine right after and took another 1/4 of their land. Then they had a couple other wars with, like, every Arab country and here we are today.

US support for Israel is essentially the reason every country in the middle east hates us.

I'm not gonna deny that the creation of Israel had forced plenty of Arabs out of their homes, but you need a little more explanation on war you're mentioning (Six Day War) was mostly fronted by other Arab nations such as Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, and Syria. Israel annexed the Golan Heights from Syria, annexed more land from the West Bank to establish their position more firmly against the attacking Jordan and Iraq and at the same time attempt to put down rebelling Palestinians. Egypt lost the Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula.

Point I'm making is that Israel did not intentionally escalate the situation, but did start the war to prevent a mass of casualties on both sides.

Essentially every war that Israel has had with it's neighboring Arab nations has mostly been preemptive self-defense (except the Yom Kippur War).

US support for Israel is essentially the reason every country in the middle east hates us.
Not really. There's plenty of reasons besides Israel for the Arab World to dislike the US. Interference with government and political favoritism, coup's and rebel outfits can cause a lot of distrust and hatred.

US support for Israel is essentially the reason every country in the middle east hates us.
That's a little bit of an oversimplification, and there's lots of reasons to continue supporting Israel. They're a massive boon to science and education even though it's an extremely small country. Also, they're pretty much our only strategic ally in that region.

Pulling out support from Israel wouldn't fix all of our problems w/ the Middle East. They're still salty about American 'nation-building' and all the military bases we've built across that region.

jews are parasites.
why the forget do we even tolerate people like this on this forum?

The same reason you're still here

ok nice one but there's no reason to tolerate what looks to be an actual skinhead here

I worded that poorly. Support for Israel is a big reason the US isn't liked, not the only reason.

ok nice one but there's no reason to tolerate what looks to be an actual skinhead here

No reason to tolerate what looks like an actual communist here.

as a religious right, can we please stop giving a stuff about israel ffs

America needs to cut it's losses in alot of places. Including Israel. If the arms deal isn't benifitng the United States in any way then why bother?

It benefits us politically. Israel is the most stable and probably the most powerful in the region.

There are more stable and powerful countries around it, but it's the only ""democratic"" one

There are more stable and powerful countries around it,

Like Syria lol
