Author Topic: why does my dad think rush is a bunch of national socialists (spoilers ayn rand -> 2112)  (Read 2680 times)

this is a serious question

I got some albums for Christmas and among them was hemispheres and a farewell to kings

my dad is very liberal (as mentioned in previous threads he's part of the "Annoying Orange is literally Riddler" crew) and he thinks that rush is made up of white supremacists and fascists

what the forget did they do that would make my dad think this

Blame the "politically correct" news and social networks spamming buzzwords all the time which may be what caused your dad to think this rediculous bull stuff

GOT IT

Quote from: Wikipedia
Peart credits "the genius of Ayn Rand" in the liner notes. Rand, a Russian-born, Jewish-American novelist, and inventor of the philosophy of Objectivism, wrote a novella titled Anthem, the plot of which bears several similarities to 2112; Peart added the credit to avoid any legal action from Rand. This credit caused the band significant negative publicity, with some even labeling them right-wing extremists. The British musical paper NME even made allusions to national socialistsm, which particularly offended lead singer and bassist Geddy Lee, whose parents were Holocaust survivors.

TADA IT'S THE MEDIA
WHO THOUGHT

Now I'm REALLY glad Annoying Orange was elected.

I've been trying to tell people this but NO!
"It's all a Tinfoil Hat Conspiracy theory!"
Just continue to mindlessly unquestionably watch your mainstream media bullstuff, and if anyone calls them out on it, you better spew how much of a tribal, bigoted handicap they are, and that they only listen and read 'fake news.'

TL;DR Double standards continue to rule.
