good lord what's happening here now

ARG is happening

you gotta find the clues

Badspot posted the tests on December 27, 2016 (or 12/27/16.) This date setup is assuming American style, according to the Gregg Reference Manual for keyboarding. We can assume he follows keyboarding etiquette as he spaces two times after each sentence. If Badspot has ever been in the military, 27/12/16 is also a possible format. Note the sequence of 122716 (or possibly of 271216) as it may be important later on.

The tests were posted at 8:04:27 p.m., 8:05:49 p.m., and 8:06:29 p.m. local time. The time between these was, then, 82 seconds (1 minute, 22 seconds) and 40 seconds, respectively. Is there some reason here? Note the sequences of 80427, 80549, and 80629 as they may be important later on. Also remember 82 and 40.

Now we can start asking the real questions. What is the significance of December 27, 2016? It was a Tuesday.
On December 27, Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, visited Pearl Harbor to remember the attacks of 1941.
December 27 was also the day Carrie Fisher died, as well as the former Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ratnasiri Wickremanayake.
The Mega Millions jackpot reached around $85,000,000, but no one won. Note, however, that two people won the million dollar prize. Write down "$2,000,000" somewhere.
John Cena made his return to WWE SmackDown.

Let's focus on two of these for now. First, John Cena. Cena last wrestled, before his hiatus which ended on December 27, on December 31, 2015. On January 7, he underwent surgery for an injured shoulder. This is nearly a year he went before he reappeared on SmackDown. Note: nearly a year. At first glance we would assume this gap between December 31, 2015 and December 27, 2016 to be 361 days, but Badspot, as his genius can only begin to explain, posted this "test" on a leap year. It was 362 days. Write that down.

Now to the other case: Carrie Fisher. Rogue One, the last movie she appeared in (albeit through the magic of CGI) released on December 16. This was 11 days before our "test day." More interesting, however, is that the last Star Wars film she had appeared in prior to this was released on May 25, 1983. Return of the Jedi. Between the release dates of these two films were 33 years, 7 months, and 2 days, or 12,270 days. Write this down as I'm certain it will be important later on.

Hopefully I've gotten you folks started. Use these hints wisely, as we can't be sure whether Badspot will give us anything else. Granted, though, there is plenty to work with here. Happy hunting!

EDIT: Thank you for the Gold, kind stranger.

If Badspot has ever been in the military

Funny joke Nonnel
