laptop screen randomly flashes white

I got this issue on my laptop where the wholescreen will randomly fill up with white light. sometimes it appears for seconds and others for long periods of time. I've managed to reset my computer to factory settings in hopes of fixing all the drivers. I think this is more of a screen issue in itself then storage or any other thing.
