so i'm trying to host a dedicated server right, but it only gets this far and then stops:

Looks like you have no port.

Try typing $Server::Port=28000 into the console before clicking Start Server

you mean on the normal client?
I thought the dedicated servers just automatically started without anything to click

Yeah. The dedicated server does have nothing to click but uses the same pref file as the client servers so booting a server with the client will refresh the pref file and then the dedicated server has to work.

in the context of a dedicated server most would guess to type it into that console

Except $Server::Port isn't a pref, $Pref::Server::Port is

i typed $Server::Port=28000; into the console, then booted up a server, shut that one down (without closing the game altogether), then booted up the dedicated server and got the same result

tried it with $Pref::Server::Port=28000; too

check your blockland\config\server\prefs.cs file
look for the variable there, if it isn't, try adding it in and saving it manually

yah the variable's there and it's 28000, should i try a different port or something or what
