so humans are just cigarette butts that eat rocks
hm

magnesium and calcium are metals (alkaline earth metals to be exact) and salt is a mineral, while rocks are several combined minerals. the minerals that make up rocks aren't usually the ones we consume.

Iron, Magnesium, and calcium are metals.

Also, eating rocks is fairly common is many species as it helps break down food in the stomach

then that means humans like to eat loving metal

then that means humans like to eat loving metal
thats ok because thats way cooler than eating rocks

granulated salt isn't a rock, and neither are trace amounts of metal considered metal in that context

so if I grind up a big bar of tungsten, does that mean it is no longer a metal?

if its just a big pile of it it'll just be metal powder

No, it would be a metal powder or metal meal, which is much more consumable than a bar of metal.
