when I was like 10 I never enjoyed the posting system. Didn't they have to verify your message before allowing it on the board?

They still do, and it takes forever, and 80% of the time it's rejected for ridiculous reasons (one of my posts got rejected for misspelling "poison").

The Pros are that the embarrassment and farce that was the LMBs will no longer be. The Cons are that every single child who used the LMBs will now be looking for other places to call home...you know, the mega-religious, super gullible and extremely memey children you'd find in a kind of cess-pit like the LMBs.
